Ceremonies in England

The ceremonies have the ability to bring about profound insights and spiritual awakenings, and many people who participate do so with the intention of exploring their own inner world and deepening their connection to the spiritual realm.

Other reasons why someone might participate in a ceremony include a desire to heal physical or emotional ailments, to overcome addiction or negative patterns of behaviour, or to gain a greater understanding of the interconnectedness of all things. We utilise medicinal plants, special diets, fasts, and master plants or entheogens, as part of a clear and well-defined path of knowledge.

The shaman, who serves as the leader of the ceremony, creates a safe and supportive environment and provides guidance throughout the process. Arutam Ruymán is an international shaman, teacher and healer with extensive knowledge and experience having trained for years with the Shuar elders in Ecuador.

His ceremonies are deeply moving experiences that involve songs, traditional musical instruments, and prayers to guide participants deeper into the ceremony. Although the work is highly personal, Ruymán is there to provide support and guidance as needed.

The ceremonies with Ruymán have profoundly impacted my life and guided me on a spiritual path.

It has been a great honour and a blessing to learn from Ruymán’s deep understanding and knowledge of the art of Shamanism that he shares with such integrity, skill and love. I am thankful for all of the ceremonial experiences that have helped me along my spiritual journey, including both the challenging and joyful ones. I am also grateful for all the brothers and sisters who have showed up to do the work and support each other in our healing and process of awakening.

Ayu,

Frequently Asked Questions

The informative seminars on ayahuasca experiences in England offer a first approach to those who wish to understand in depth how retreats are lived, what their ceremonial structure is and what personal and spiritual implications may arise during the process. These spaces do not promote consumption, but rather provide a cultural, ethical and practical framework for making informed decisions.

The ayahuasca experience must take place within a safe and carefully maintained environment. The guidance of someone with deep experience in the use of master plants and in the accompaniment of processes is essential.

Before starting the experience, an internal personal evaluation is recommended to help understand the emotional and physical state of the participant. The space should be designed to facilitate silence, energetic care, and introspection.

Those who accompany must be present at all times, and have a real understanding of how the plant acts in each case.

Preparing for an ayahuasca intake doesn’t just mean following instructions: it involves a genuine commitment to yourself. Diet, rest, attention to sexual energy, and quiet reflection are all part of that alignment.

These simple yet profound gestures promote a clearer and more sustained experience. And what happens next is just as important: continuing with this care for two weeks allows what has been experienced to settle, process and fully manifest itself in daily life.

During the ayahuasca process, intense emotions, deep internal openings or states of sensitivity that require containment may appear. The figure of the teacher is fundamental: someone with the necessary experience to sustain those moments clearly, without forcing or intervening unnecessarily.

At your side, a trained and attentive team offers silent support, taking care of the space and assisting when it is really needed. This accompaniment not only protects the individual path, but also the whole, creating an environment in which each person can go through their process with confidence and respect.

The ayahuasca process can bring real transformation on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level. It is not only an intense experience, but an opportunity to heal from within, courageously facing what is usually kept hidden: wounds, fears or internal truths that ask to be seen.

By traversing that territory with determination and dedication, the person can experience a remarkable increase in their vital energy, a renewed connection with the sacred, and a deep clarity about their path and purpose.

The ayahuasca experience does not end when the ceremony concludes. Integration is the moment when everything we have experienced begins to take shape in our daily lives. What was understood, felt or seen during the experience finds its true place when we return to the real world: to work, to family, to old habits.

It is essential to maintain a certain stillness, avoid excessive stimuli and maintain an internal connection. Experience makes sense when it changes the way we are, look and act, even if it is in small things.

Learning shamanism is not an individual adventure or a passing fad. It is a profound experience that only makes sense within an ancestral lineage. It is not a matter of consuming information, but of living a transformation guided by those who know the spiritual terrain. A true experience is not improvised.

It is built over time, in the relationship between teacher and disciple, in the sustained commitment to a living practice. Lineages offer that experience: a way to open up to the mystery with care, with respect, with truth. Learning in this way is also letting oneself be touched by the old. It is to receive something that has been lovingly guarded, and to take responsibility for honoring it.

In every gesture, in every silence, beats the experience of those who walked before. Today, when there are so many confusing offers, the wisest thing to do is to look for an authentic experience. And that is only possible within a lineage: because there, every step has roots, every word has memory and every silence has a soul.

The Uwishin does not lead a ceremony from the outside: he goes into it completely. His state of union with the Whole allows him to sustain the process from within, firmly and without interference.

Their songs are not learned or repeated: they spring from their direct connection with the sacred. They are calls that awaken the deep memory of those who listen. Those songs are strength. They vibrate in the bones, clear the mind and awaken spiritual sensitivity. This is not an improvised performance.

The Uwishin has been trained by his elders, has purified his path and is able to sustain work in its most intense moments. Without that presence, the ceremony loses its direction.

In the traditional Amazonian experience, ayahuasca — known as Natem in the Shuar language — is much more than a psychoactive substance: it is a master plant, a guiding spirit that has the power to transform and reveal from the depths of the being.

During the experience, Natem behaves like a lucid mirror: he brings to light mental distortions, emotional blockages, and ego masks. Although it can be intense, this experience is profoundly healing. The master plant helps to release what limits and to recover what is essential.

But its greatest power is in what it awakens: an inner force that purifies, organizes and reactivates the spiritual connection. Therefore, in an experience guided by people with true training, ayahuasca becomes a key presence on the path of healing and awakening consciousness.

During an authentic ayahuasca experience, tobacco is much more than a ritual detail: it is a master plant in itself, considered by native peoples — such as the Shuar — as the living blood of the Great Spirit, Arutam.

Its preparation is special: it is infused in water and inhaled with deep respect, at first to open the way and at the end to seal and integrate the experience. Tobacco clarifies, strengthens, and helps sustain the vision that unfolds during the ceremony.

As the experience intensifies, tobacco acts as a guide, as a living medicine that responds to what the soul needs. In the hands of the shaman, it becomes a powerful channel of spiritual transmission.

Their presence reminds us of the essential: that we are made of the same as everything that surrounds us, and that this union is the true destination of all search.

The ayahuasca experience, when it is authentic, is not recreational at all. It is not a light experience or a spiritual fashion. It is a profound process that requires respect, clear intention, and the guidance of someone who has walked the path.

In the Amazonian tradition, this master plant is treated with great reverence because it can radically transform a person’s life. Ayahuasca does not produce pleasant effects to pass the time. What it does is reveal: what we avoid, what hurts, what needs to be healed. And that can only be sustained in the right context, within a well-conducted ritual experience, where every step is taken care of.

When difficult times come, the difference between a sincere seeker and a curious one becomes apparent. Those who only wanted to “live something different” resist, get confused and lose their way. But those who are prepared to look inward, find in that same threshold the access to a deep, transformative and true experience.
