Analysis and introduction to the ceremony with Ayahuasca, San Pedro and Tobacco, through traditional ceremonies, for healing and awakening of consciousness. Seminar on Traditional Amazonian Shamanism in Germany.
Experience the teachings and practices of traditional Amazonian Shamanism in Germany through retreats featuring ceremonies with master and medicinal plants. These offerings are designed to facilitate healing and the awakening of consciousness.
In April 2022, Ruyman guested on Germany for the first time and after more than 4 years of planning. The group that came together was very diverse, with 20 participants from 13 different countries. Most of the people didn’t know each other, and only few had experience with the medicine. Yet, the ceremony turned out beautifully, and many participants made strong ties with each other.
I went into my first ceremony 5 years ago unsure about what to expect but with a strong intention, and my life has not been the same ever since. It was the catalyst for many subsequent changes in my life and brought me closer to myself, my family and the greater community.
From the very first ceremony, I felt the benefits for myself but also understood the significance and cultural patrimony of Ruyman’s work. I was compelled to sharing this knowledge and tradition with more people, in the hope that it will help them too to live better lives.

A ceremony with Ruymán…
Opening up the space with sniffing tobacco, the blood of Arutam. Bringing calmness into our minds. Centering, arriving.
The Tumank slowly guiding us, increasing the sensations of the medicine strongly felt in our bodies.
The chanting stirring up our resistances, shaking our structures of illusions and deceptions, tearing down constructs of the self. Questioning the justifications of our wrongdoings. Patterns and visions may arise, to be understood and learned from. A deep connection with the spirit, to all that is, awakening our instincts, reclaiming our birthright, the sense of pure bliss in unity.
The teachings of the elders, words of wisdom echoing in our souls and entering our hearts forever.
The sounds of the Kaer intensifying the vibrations within to the infinite depths of existence.
The Flute and the tobacco working in great unison, changing the pattern, leading with vast clarity to a deep felt understanding. Peace.
Every ceremony is different, guiding me on the shamanic path of truth and responsibility. The transmissions and teachings dripping into my daily life like raindrops falling to the earth. Nourishing the soil, where seeds of wisdom were once lying dormant, now blossoming. A higher sensitivity, demanding my attention, demanding changes to impose becoming a sincere human being. This work is not only for ourselves, but also for the world and the Spirit. For the care of all that is.
Sharing this path with the family in Germany was a great honour and it will continue to be so in the future. I came to meet a lot of heartfelt and honest people and I am very happy to see that a community is growing out of this one ceremony we had in April 2022.

Knowledge about the ayahuasca ceremony, typical of traditional Amazonian shamanism, usually raises many questions in those who approach it for the first time. This introductory seminar seeks to provide a space for learning and reflection on this ancestral practice, its cultural foundations and the process of spiritual preparation that surrounds it.
The following frequently asked questions have been prepared to guide you in your first theoretical approach to this path, facilitating a clear and respectful understanding of Amazonian medicine.
The practice with ayahuasca requires very precise conditions to guarantee safety. It is essential that it be guided by someone with real experience, capable of understanding both the effects of the plant and the emotional and spiritual states that may arise. Before each practice, an individual evaluation is necessary to adapt the process to each person. The environment must be well prepared, in energetic balance, and promote recollection. Those who accompany must be present
from beginning to end, and have a deep understanding of how the plant acts in different contexts.
Before participating in ayahuasca intake, it is essential to enter a purification stage that includes a simple diet, without excesses or stimulants, as well as a conscious safeguard of sexual energy.
The body, as a temple, needs to be available, and that also involves preparing the spirit through silence, rest, and reflection. It is not a mechanical routine, but a gesture of respect for what you are going to go through.
This care is not exhausted in practice: it must be maintained for at least two weeks afterwards, to sustain the transformation clearly and firmly.
The ayahuasca process can open very deep internal states, bringing with it emotions or memories that need to be sustained with presence. The guidance of an experienced teacher allows you to go through those moments with greater clarity, without losing the center. Their role is not to intervene constantly, but to observe with discernment and act only when necessary.
A trained team fulfills the same function: to care without altering, to sustain without interfering. The environment must be protected, and the group must be protected, as a unit where each person influences the collective experience. To take care of the individual is to take care of everyone.
Ayahuasca should not be taken lightly, especially when medical or psychological treatments are underway. Certain combinations can put physical or emotional health at risk. Therefore, before starting a process, it is important to express honestly if you are under medication or therapy.
Those who accompany this type of practice responsibly will know how to evaluate the situation and act carefully, prioritizing the well-being of the person above any expectation.
The ayahuasca process can be a tool for profound transformation, which goes beyond the visible. Not only does it awaken visions or emotions, but it also allows us to touch the roots of discomfort and recover the link with one’s own truth. This often involves going through difficult parts of the self.
But by doing so with firmness, will, and honesty, an inner renewal arises that expresses itself in greater energy, spiritual clarity, and a sense of real purpose.
What appears during an ayahuasca practice can be very profound, but its real meaning unfolds in the days and weeks that follow. Integrating means giving space to what has been experienced, taking care of it, not forcing it, and allowing it to manifest itself little by little.
Feeding, resting, quiet, and avoiding unnecessary distractions are all ways to sustain the process. But the most important thing is how we incorporate it when we return to the routine: at work, in relationships, in small gestures. Practice is complete when what we understand becomes a way of life.
Shamanism, to be true, must be learned within an ancestral lineage. It is not a sum of theories or a modern experiment, but a set of millenary practices that are transmitted by direct contact, by presence, by experience. Whoever wants to embark on this path needs a guide to root it.
The Uwishin does not direct a ceremony from the intellect: he embodies it. From a state of deep communion with the Great Spirit, he sustains space without needing to control it. The songs he sings are not fixed melodies, but living expressions of his union with the sacred. Each song opens a space, remembers, guides.
It’s not ritual music: it’s vibrant force. It pierces the body, calms the mind, and sharpens the energy as if it were an instrument in the hands of the spirit. Only someone trained in this tradition, with years of dedication and purification, can fulfill that function.
The Uwishin is the guardian of the process: its presence allows the work to be deep, true and protected.
In traditional Amazonian practices, ayahuasca — known as Natem among the Shuar peoples — is a deeply respected master plant for its transformative power. It is not considered just another substance, but a wise spirit that transmits teachings from the center of being.
Throughout the process, Natem acts as a reflection: he makes ego illusions, repressed memories, and emotional blockages visible. It is a demanding, but deeply regenerating experience. This master plant allows us to let go of burdens and reconnect with the inner truth.
Its power is not only in what it reveals, but in what it awakens: an energy that cleanses, aligns and reconnects the individual with their spiritual essence. Therefore, in practices led by experienced teachers, ayahuasca becomes a powerful tool for healing and conscious expansion.
Within the traditional Amazonian practices with ayahuasca, the use of tobacco is one of the most profound and significant. It is not a simple accompaniment, but a master plant with a specific function, considered by the Shuar as the very blood of Arutam, the Great Spirit.
Tobacco is not smoked: it is prepared in water and inhaled solemnly. It is taken at the beginning of the practice, to prepare the body and spirit, and at the end, to seal and integrate the path traveled. Thus, it marks the beginning and culmination of the healing and expansion process.
During the ceremony, it can be used by the master to hold, protect or intensify the energetic work according to the needs of the moment. Its vibration orders, awakens and orients. Tobacco, in this tradition, is not explained: it is felt. It is a living channel to union with the Whole.
There is nothing recreational about practicing ayahuasca within an authentic shamanic context. To approach without preparation or respect, in search of intense emotions or a different experience, is to move away from the true purpose of this ancestral medicine.
Ayahuasca is a powerful tool that, when used well, can trigger a process of profound change. This sacred plant does not generate pleasant states for the ego: it confronts it. It brings to light what we avoid seeing, disarms defenses and confronts us with what we need to heal.
That is why it can only be properly sustained within the framework of a practice guided by someone who knows the spiritual path thoroughly. When difficult moments arise, the authenticity of the search is revealed. The one who only wanted to experience sensations, collides with his own shadow and becomes an obstacle for himself and for the group.
But those who truly seek, who open up with sincerity, will find in that same critical point access to a transformative and revealing practice.
